Martlets Bear Down on the Bears
It was a fine day for lacrosse, as Westminster donned its blacks to fend off the Berkshire Bears. The first half was neck and neck, with both teams inching ahead to 4-4 at the close of the half. Outstanding hits by both Jack Roberts ’20 and Daniel Pinckney ’20 were complemented by sharp shots from Riley Wood ’19, Nate Stevens ’21 and Willie Noble ‘20. As the third quarter began the Martlets stayed in lockstep with the Bears, tying it up 7-7 with just eight minutes remaining in the fourth. As the final minutes of the game pressed down on the field, the Bears nudged their way two goals ahead of Westminster, and the game ended at 7-9. The boys are hungry for more as they look toward another two weeks of fierce competition.
