Martlets Get Big Road Win at T-P

Tyler Beaudoin got the win on the mound, throwing three innings and only giving up one run with no walks and six strikeouts. Michael Rossi threw two shutout innings; inducing weak contact and striking out six hitters. The Martlet offense was in good form, and although TP gave them a little help with four errors, the boys earned plenty of runs from their ten walks and twelve hits. Kareum Skovron-Rasheed led the offense with three hits and four RBI, and Rossi, Dylan Ness, and Jack Zelenka each had two hits on the day. Other RBI collected by Ness (3), Massimo Guarnieri (2), Paul Coccaro, and Adam Heffer; Jack Owens also added a single. Will Derbyshire had a pinch-hit inside the park homerun to put a bow on an impressive offensive showing for the black and gold.

Grit and Grace Award goes to the entire team, as this game was well in our control early, and it would have been easy to lose focus and to start messing around, but the guys were steadfast in their commitment to playing the game the right way every pitch and respecting the game, our opponent, the umpires, and the coaches from start to finish.
