Martlets Take Care of Williston

The Martlets hosted Williston Northampton and came out firing in the first quarter. Their defense was relentless and aggressive, shutting down the Wildcats in the paint and forcing them to rely on contested outside shots. Coslyn Bardy and Morgan McQueeney were disruptive on the defensive end, creating multiple turnovers and setting the tone early. Offensively, Esther Lee led the team with 10 points. Bardy added 6, while Audrey Tan chipped in 2. Gloria Oh made a major impact under the basket, dominating the boards and scoring her first 4 points of the season.  Layla Huguley delivered a gritty, high-energy performance, playing lockdown defense and forcing key turnovers in both the second and fourth quarters. It was a strong, and  well-earned win for the JV Girls.
Grit and Grace Award:  Layla demonstrated strong game IQ with smart passes, aggressive defense, and great positioning, all of which reflect the hard work she puts in at practice.  Layla is one of the most vocal players on the court, and she leads with grit and grace.
