Martlets Fall on the Road

For their second game of the season, the Martlets traveled to Berkshire to face an experienced and talented team. The Bears jumped out to a quick lead, fueled by their full-court defense, quick work in transition, and strong 3-point shooting. However, the Martlets started to settle in and handle their opponent’s pressure. Kaitlyn Buda ‘27 and Delia Lockwood ‘26 worked hard in the post and found success with high-low actions against the Berkshire zone. Parker Perillo ‘26 also stepped up to provide consistent defensive pressure and leadership on both ends of the floor. Before the end of the half, Gianna Monaco ‘27 found a few good looks at the basket and helped facilitate scoring opportunities for her teammates. Despite the deficit, the Martlets never gave up and continued to chip away with hustle plays, energy from the bench, and a resilient attitude. The team will now have a week to prepare for their holiday tournament at Ethel Walker.
