Martlets Compete at RMI
The boys cross country squad delivered in Westminster's very own invitational race, the Richard Miller Invitational 5k! With six teams competing for glory, the boys' team ended up in third place overall, one of their best finishes in years, defeating Suffield, Salisbury, and Bement while dropping to Williston and Kent. 14 of our 20 runners ran season best or personal best times, an incredible feat on arguably the most difficult 5k course in the entire division. Alessio Suarez ('28) and Jason Xie ('28) led that group taking 1:46 and 1:15 respectively, off their personal best times. The top runner in the varsity race was led by the fastest overall Martlet, Michael Wang ('27) in ninth overall, for the third race in a row. The fastest runner in the JV race for Westminster was Bryant Hong ('29) finishing in fifth overall.
The Grit & Grace Award goes to Ben Keller ('27) and those who helped him out in making this race a resounding success. Without him helping with the course daily the past couple of weeks and getting it prepared for runners, there simply would have been no race this year.
