Martlets Fall to Pomfret

The Martlets fell 3–2 to Pomfret after two uncharacteristic early mistakes put us behind almost from the opening whistle. To the boys’ credit, we fought back and leveled the match by halftime — and even created two excellent chances to take the lead.
Coming out of the break, the energy and intent were clear as we looked to take control of the game. While much of the play was in our favor, another untimely giveaway was punished, and Pomfret once again made the most of their counterattack opportunities.
Westminster outshot and outplayed Pomfret for long stretches, but unfortunately not where it matters most — on the scoreboard. The lesson is clear: we need to limit the killer mistakes that are proving costly.
No time to dwell, though. The margin for error is smaller after yesterday’s result, but everything we want to achieve is still in front of us. See you Wednesday!
