Martlets Defeat WNS

Despite strong winds sweeping across the courts, the JV team stayed focused and brought home a great set of results on Wednesday afternoon. The blustery conditions didn’t stop our players from working hard and playing smart.
In singles, our Lilly Murphy `25 had a challenging start and found herself down early, but she stayed composed, adjusted to the conditions, and rallied back for a hard-earned 8–6 win. Kitty Olson `27, Virginia Whiting `26, Diggy Elwell `25 played efficient, confident tennis, picking up decisive wins with scores of 8–0, 8–1, and 8–0 respectively. In exhibition play, Emily Fonner `26 and Clara Covil `26 continued the team’s momentum, winning 6–0 and 6–1.
Our doubles teams were locked in across the board. Avery Gray `26 and Luna Yang `26 came away with an 8–1 win, showing great communication and control. Ashley Hill `25 and Pippa Jervis `28 didn’t drop a single game, winning 8–0, while Harriet Leventhal `26 cruised to an 8–1 victory, keeping rallies tight and consistent.
It was a strong, team-wide performance with solid energy and adaptability, even with the wind playing a role. The team continues to build confidence and chemistry with each match—great job, everyone!
