Martlets Wings Clipped in Opener

In our opening match of the season on a dreary April today, the Martlets hosted the Eagles of…wait for it…Eaglebrook. The first few games swung our way, almost across the board. Luke Champoux ‘28 and Enoch Olaosebikan ‘27 got out to early leads in their singles matches, but eventually fell to their opponents in compelling matches. Alessio Suarez ‘28 and Marco Zheng ‘27 put points on the board for us; Alessio’s strong forehand and Marco’s steadiness on his second serves pulled them ahead. And despite the losses in our other singles and doubles matches, our team put up a fight. Zach Li ‘27 and Gid Williams ‘27 competed hard and captain Colin Daly ‘27 and Ethan McQueeney ‘27 put up a valiant effort against Eaglebrook’s first seeded doubles. Our next match is against Choate this coming Wednesday, April 16th.
