Martlets Defeat K-O

Westminster Girls Lacrosse delivered a commanding performance Monday afternoon, defeating Kingswood Oxford 18-8 on Harrison Field. Playing as a cohesive unit, the Martlets controlled possession and capitalized on their scoring opportunities to secure the Founders League win.
Hadley Crowther ‘25 was instrumental at the draw, winning 12 controls to keep Westminster on the attack. Liza Merrill ‘25, Alex Musser ‘26, Taleah Leonard ‘26, and Ainslee Deptula ‘28 also contributed with key draw controls.
Leading the offense, Alex Musser ‘26 paced the team with five goals, while Kate Epke ‘27 orchestrated the attack with four goals and seven assists. Ava Aponte ‘28 netted her first career goal in Black and Gold and finished with a hat trick, while Ainslee Deptula ‘28 also recorded her first goal for Westminster. Additional goal scorers included Schuyler Groves ‘26 (1), Liza Merrill ‘25 (3), and Caroline Pokorny ‘26 (1).
Defensively, the Martlets held strong, forcing crucial turnovers throughout the game. Charlotte Radin was solid in goal, making seven saves to anchor the defense. The teams energy was outstanding with Hopie Foshee ‘27, Eliza Reilly, ‘27, Cameron  Perillo ‘28 and Caroline Callen ‘26 leading the team on the sidelines. 
With momentum on their side, Westminster looks ahead to a road matchup against Northfield Mount Hermon on Wednesday.
