Martlets Fall at Opening Meet

The 2026 Track and Field season's began with a tri-meet against Suffield Academy and Cheshire Academy. With the fact that our team is somewhat young and inexperienced and especially because of having reduced numbers, I made the team aware that we would have an uphill climb all season, but we are committed to a theme of individual progress and success. With that focus in mind, we had a few standout performances. The team was led by June Perrin 29’ and Coslyn Bardy ’28 who both won their individual events, the 400m and javelin respectively. The team also earned a number of second place finishes, including Sofia Eleuteri ’28 in both the 1500m and 3000m, Gianna Monaco ’27 in the shot put, and Hannah Batoh ’28 in discus. Although the end points didn’t go our way, the girls all worked extremely hard and set some impressive marks to open our season that they can build and improve on as the season progresses.
