Martlets Defeat Rhinos

The Westminster Girls JV hockey team secured a gritty 4-2 victory over Taft in a high-octane matchup defined by relentless offense and great goaltending. Both ends of the ice saw a "shooting fest," with the Taft netminder turning aside over 30 attempts. However, Westminster’s Lily Pokorny '29 was the story in the crease, delivering a stellar performance by kicking out 34 shots to keep the Martlets ahead. The offense ignited early when Joy Li ’28 found the back of the net with a precision wrist shot. Just one shift later, Li turned playmaker, setting up Joanna Halle '29 to double the lead. Aila Van Dolah '28 provided the finishing blows with a two-goal performance. Her highlight of the night featured a spectacular coast-to-coast rush, weaving through the defense before rifling a wrist shot into the upper corner. It was a complete team win fueled by sharp shooting and defensive resilience.
