Martlets Fall to Choate

The Westminster Girls JV Hockey team faced a formidable opponent in Choate this week, ultimately falling 9–3 in a hard-fought contest. Despite the scoreline, the Martlets displayed impressive flashes of skill and offensive coordination throughout the game. The scoring opened in the first period with a standout goal by Chloe Corneau (’29), who finished a beautiful sequence of well-coordinated passing from Veronica Edwards (’27) and Anna Klapman (’26). In the second period, Joanna Halle provided a highlight-reel moment with a stunning "coast-to-coast" solo effort to find the back of the net. Macey Sheehan (’27) kept the momentum going into the final frame, adding a third goal for Westminster on a strong shot from twenty feet out! Defensively, Lily Pokorny (’29) was exceptional between the pipes once again. Facing a relentless Choate offense, Pokorny used her stick, glovehand, blocker, and pads to record over 20 saves. While it was a challenging outing, the team's persistence and individual play remained bright spots until the final whistle.
