Martlets get Commanding Win

The Westminster JV Girls Hockey team delivered a commanding performance against Northfield Mt. Hermon School, skating away with a decisive 9-2 victory.
The game began as a back-and-forth battle. Westminster opened the scoring early, capitalizing on impressive stick work by Joanna Halle ('29). Abby Cirelli ('27) quickly followed up with a sharp goal to extend the lead. However, NMH proved resilient, bouncing back to bring the score within one. Macey Sheehan ('27) responded with a goal for the Marlets, but NMH answered just before the period ended, leaving the game tight at 3-2 after the first.
From the second period onward, the ice tilted heavily in Westminster's favor. The offense found its rhythm with Eliza Reilly ('27) scoring off a fantastic assist from Anna Klapman ('26). Halle soon struck again, sending the team into the second intermission with a 5-2 lead.
Defensively, Lily Pokorny ('29) was spectacular between the pipes. She kept the pressure off by blocking, kicking, and gloving every attempt, completely shutting down the NMH offense for the remainder of the game. With the net secure, the Marlets’ offense exploded in the third period. Helen Kennedy ('27) and Anastasia Augsberger ('26) added to the tally, while Cirelli notched her second of the game. The highlight of the final frame saw Halle complete her hat trick, capping off the win.
