Martlets Open Season with a Win

The Martlets hosted Northfield Mount Herman for the home opener on Harrison field. It was a back and forth game for much of the first half with some exciting action on both ends of the field. The defense, led by Parker Perillo '26, played well throughout the contest, limiting NMH to just five goals on the day. At the same time, Maya Jones '28 stood tall between the pipes earning her first win as a member of the black and gold with nine saves. On the offensive end of the field, Caroline Pokorny '26 was able to notch 4 goals to help spearhead the offense. She had a number of deft moves capped off with excellent shot placement which helped keep the Martlets even with the Hoggers through the first three quarters. Kate Epke '27 turned it on late in the game to score two pivotal goals to help secure the win finishing with two goals and five assists on the day while Alex Musser '26 and Ava Aponte '28  also contributed to the scoresheet to give Westminster the 8-5 win. We look forward to getting back out on Harrison field to play Miss Porter's this Saturday at 2pm.
