Martlets Fall to Miss Porter's

In their second game of the week, the Martlets faced some similar scoring struggles, ultimately shooting 10% from the floor as they tried to keep pace with Porters. In the face of a low scoring first half, Westminster leaned on their defense and held their opponents to 23 points with Gianna Monaco ‘27 and Parker Perillo ‘26 working hard to defend the 3-point line. In the third quarter, Kaitlyn Buda ‘27 helped lead the offense, drawing fouls and scoring 13 of the team’s 15 points in the frame. Despite their sustained efforts, the Martlets were unable to shrink the first half deficit. In the closing minutes, Westminster had one of their best offensive positions as Suri Dong ‘28 passed to Victoria Niu ‘29 on the wing who found Eliana Gauvin ‘29 on the baseline who then delivered an interior pass to Melody El-Amin ‘27 who made a banked jump shot – causing celebrations both on and off the court. The Martlets will look to have more of these possessions on Wednesday as they travel to Greens Farms Academy for a 4:00pm match up.
