Martlets Fall to Canterbury

In their final game of the calendar year, the Martlets tipped off against the Canterbury Saints. Despite some bumps and bruises, Parker Perillo ’26 was up for the challenge of leading the defense in this final contest and helped limit Canterbury’s offensive production. On the other end, Kaitlyn Buda ’27 continued to put up valuable points, dropping 8 in the first half. Canterbury’s size advantage bothered Westminster shooters and helped the Saints with rebounding. However, the Martlets continued to battle, fueled by Delia Lockwood’s energy and physicality down low. In the closing seconds of the third quarter, a 3 by Buda ’27 followed by a nice jump shot from Perillo ’26 cut the Canterbury lead to 10, but the Martlets would not be able to get any closer. In the closing minute, Charlotte Tyler ’28 scored her first basket of the season off a nice dribble drive, which proved to be a nice highlight as the weekend came to a close. The Martlets will look forward to facing off against Canterbury when they return from the break.
