Martlets Fall to Bears

The Martlets hosted Berkshire in a competitive home matchup. From the start, Jeff Niu ‘26 put in a strong all-around performance, while Teddy Russel ‘26 pressing created early scoring opportunities that were just unlucky. Defensively, Brooks Berthiaume ‘27, Allen Alava ‘28, and Jordan Pham ‘27 anchored the back line with discipline and grit. Despite the team’s solid defensive structure, Berkshire managed to find the net twice in the first half.
In the second half, goalkeeper Will Gallagher ‘27 rose to the challenge, making key saves under pressure. Jordan Pham ‘27 was exceptional, consistently winning back possession and easing the load on the defense. Steven Lau’28 battled tirelessly up front in pursuit of a breakthrough goal, while Calvin Bixby ‘28 remained composed and focused throughout. Henry Baird ‘26 also earned recognition for his strong defensive play.
The Grit and Grace Award goes to Jordan Pham ‘27, whose relentless energy and determination in regaining possession were crucial in holding off Berkshire’s attack. His effort and leadership set the tone for the team’s resilience from start to finish.
