Martlets Fall to Williston

During Saturday of Parents & Family weekend here at Westminster, the Martlets faced off against a talented Williston team in a challenging matchup. Williston came out strong, scoring several early goals that put Westminster in a tough position from the start. Despite the early deficit, the Martlets refused to let up, showing heart, hustle, and resilience throughout all four quarters. The team continued to push forward, creating scoring chances and playing with determination on both ends of the field. Their efforts were rewarded with a well-earned third quarter goal from senior captain Pippa Jiranek. Caroline Callen ‘26 sent a ball into the circle, which Jiranek got control of and placed a great shot on net. A fitting goal for the captain who showed consistent Grit & Grace throughout the game. While the final score was 5-1 in favor of Williston, the Martlets never stopped competing. Their positive attitude, teamwork, and refusal to give up were commendable, making the team and coaches proud of the fight they showed on the field. The Martlets hit the road on Wednesday to take on Deerfield Academy.
