Martlets Defeat AOF

On Saturday, October 11th, the Quad Squad faced Avon Old Farms School on a crisp fall afternoon for their second meeting of the season. The team came out energized and focused from the opening whistle. Just four minutes into the first half, Matthew Polastry ’29 cut in from the right wing and delivered a powerful cross that found the left corner of the net, giving the Martlets an early lead. From there, Westminster controlled the match with outstanding spacing, communication, and ball movement, maintaining possession and pressure across the offense, midfield, and defense. Goalkeeper Kareum Rasheed ’29 anchored the back line with several key saves, including a dramatic stop on a penalty kick to preserve the shutout. The offensive momentum continued with goals from Dylan Park ’29, Mark Broderick ’29, Gabriel Rodrigues ’29, Kyle Zhou ’29, and Connor Quinn ’29. In one memorable moment, Kareum even made a daring run from his own box to the opposing goal area, nearly converting a seventh goal himself. The final whistle sealed a 7–0 victory for the Martlets, who executed their game plan with professionalism, positivity, and sportsmanship. The team demonstrated the skills and cohesion they’ve been honing in practice and showed great respect for their opponents throughout. Special thanks to Mr. Malcolm Kleban for his support and help during the match.
