Martlets Fall to Taft

The Martlets traveled to Taft on a lovely Saturday afternoon for their fourth match of the season. After the smoothest warm-up yet, the team was hyped up and ready to take on Taft. Chloe Donovan ‘29 secured four clean blocks to earn a couple of points for the Martlets. The team came alive in the second set, starting with Sloane Finnegan ‘28, continuing to serve aces. Macey Sheehan ‘27 and Arielle Anderson ‘28 were key members on the net, blocking, hitting, and keeping the ball alive. Ainslee Deptula ‘28, June Perrin ’29, and Ella Hammel ‘28 placed some great sets to provide opportunities for solid hits by Chloe, Sloane, Kaitlyn Buda ‘27, and Candice Hong ‘28. The Martlets played with tenacity and determination; the score does not do their teamwork, communication, and overall effort justice.
