A bitter loss

Frantz Batoh
It was a day that tested the Martlets’ spirit, resilience, and unity. Despite missing some key players, the team stepped onto the field determined to give their all. Every pass, every tackle, and every sprint reflected their unwavering commitment to the game and to one another.

The first half began with intensity on both sides. The Martlets held their ground well, creating moments of promise and showing strong defensive organization. However, Loomis managed to find the back of the net with an unexpected goal, breaking the deadlock and setting the tone for a challenging match ahead.

In the second half, the Martlets continued to fight with heart and determination. The game grew more demanding as Loomis pressed forward, eventually scoring two more goals. Despite the scoreboard, the Martlets never gave up, pushing until the very last whistle, showing grit, teamwork, and courage in every play. While the result (0-3) was not what the team had hoped for, the performance spoke volumes about their character. They faced adversity with pride and fought valiantly, proving that true victory lies in effort and unity rather than numbers on the board.

Grit and Grace Award: The entire team, for their relentless fight, unwavering spirit, and grace under pressure. We are proud of you, girls. You played with heart, strength, and honor. That is the true mark of champions.
