Martlets Fall to Williston

The Martlets traveled to Massachusetts to face Williston Northampton. Early in the match, the opponents applied heavy pressure, and quickly scored two goals. The Martlets soon found their rhythm, with Hudson O’Hanlon ‘28 standing out through his skillful play, which energized the team and drove stronger collaboration on the field. Brooks Berthiuame ‘27 also anchored the defense, creating a reliable backline that limited Williston’s chances. Despite their improved teamwork, Williston added two more goals, one of which came from an unfortunate own goal in the closing minutes of the first half.
The second half began on a stronger note, with Hudson O’Hanlon ‘28 moving into the striker role and making smart attacking choices, though he was unlucky not to score. Paired with Teddy Russell ‘26 up front, the Martlets broke through when Teddy ‘26 scored the opening goal for the Martlets. The team battled hard throughout the half, matching the intensity of their opponents and conceding just one goal despite constant pressure. A special mention goes to goalkeeper Will Gallagher ‘27, who held strong by two penalty attempts.
The Grit & Grace Award is given to Hudson O’Hanlon ‘28 for his grit, determination and his thoughtful, calculated play that proved vital to the team’s performance.
