Martlets Defeat WNS

We hosted Williston for our third match of the season under cold and windy conditions—not ideal for tennis, but exactly the kind of weather we’ve been preparing for since day one. The team embraced the challenge and brought great energy across the board!
Doubles got us rolling.
Elsa Koh ’26 and Clover Cooper ’26 led at No. 1 with a smart, consistent game plan—solid from the baseline and aggressive at the net. They played confidently and earned a convincing win.
At No. 2, Remi Morello ’25 and Lauren Neuman ’25 brought their usual chemistry and footwork, keeping things simple and focused. Their energy was contagious, and they played an excellent match.
Our No. 3 team, Lucy Norton ’27 and Charlotte Tyler ’28, continue to grow with each outing. They're communicating well, moving aggressively at the net, and becoming a real force. Another strong win!
On to singles.
Elsa Koh ’26 took No. 1 singles with a dominant first set and a composed, strategic second set in tough wind. Clover Cooper ’26 looked sharp at No. 2, controlling points with improved movement and smart shot selection.
At No. 3, Lauren Neuman ’25 kept her cool and used her athleticism to cruise to a confident win.
Charlotte Tyler ’28 stepped into the No. 4 spot and showed great resilience. After dropping the first set, she reset, stayed patient, and pulled out a gutsy win in a third-set tiebreaker.
Remi Morello ’25 was steady and focused at No. 5, battling long rallies and keeping errors low to secure the W.
Lucy Morton ’27 wrapped things up at No. 6 with another smart, aggressive performance—her improvement is impressive.

It wasn’t the prettiest tennis with the weather, but the team stayed focused, executed our game plans, and walked away with a full sweep and a ton of positive momentum. Onward!
