Martlets Fly High in Farmington

We traveled to Miss Porter’s today for an away match and competed using the 4-3 format, as requested by the home team. While this isn’t our usual match format, our players were flexible, focused, and ready to compete.
We kicked off the match with three doubles courts.
At No. 1 Doubles, Remi Morello ‘25 and Lauren Neuman ‘25 brought strong energy from the first point. They kept their shot selection smart and high-percentage, moved aggressively at the net, and executed their strategy with confidence. Their communication and court presence led them to a solid win in a competitive match.
At No. 2 Doubles, Lucy Morton ‘26 and Charlotte Tyler ‘28 started strong against a well-paired team. They held their ground through key moments, played smart tennis, and came away with an impressive win. These two continue to improve with each outing.
Margaux Walter ‘27 and Natasha Johnson ‘27 got the start at No. 3 Doubles and made the most of their opportunity. Both players served consistently and effectively, returned with discipline, and executed well at the net. Their focus and composure helped secure another win and boosted their confidence heading into future matches.
Moving into singles:
At No. 1 Singles, Elsa Koh ‘26 played a strong match, balancing aggressive play with intentional development. She used the opportunity to work on specific aspects of her game and came away with a convincing win—building momentum for the rest of the season.
At No. 2 Singles, Helen Marshall ‘25 faced a heavy-hitting opponent and battled through a close, hard-fought match. While she came up short, her determination stood out. With continued practice and confidence, we’re excited to see her game grow and evolve.
Clover Cooper ‘27 competed at No. 3 Singles and once again delivered a solid performance. She stayed focused, took care of business efficiently, and even used the match to test out some more advanced shots. Clover continues to elevate her game with each match.
Lauren Neuman ‘25, pulling double duty, returned to the court for No. 4 Singles. She stayed steady and composed, showing clear signs of progress in her overall game. Lauren’s work ethic and commitment to improving are paying off.
Our overarching goal this season is to focus on the small improvements we’ve emphasized during practice. With two matches now behind us, the team is finding its rhythm, building confidence, and most importantly, enjoying the journey together.
