Martlets Fall to Lions

After making the trek to Kent, the Martlets started their pre-game warmup with great energy. That energy transferred into the opening minutes of the game as they worked hard on defense to limit Kent’s attack. Yet despite their excellent play on the defensive end of the floor, Westminster struggled to get the ball in the hoop on the offensive end, getting shutout in the second quarter. In the second half, Delia Lockwood ‘26, Gianna Monaco ‘27, and Eva Rodgers ‘25 helped get points on the board for the Martlets while Lauren Neuman ‘25, Lilly Murphy ‘25, and Parker Perillo ‘26 continued to work hard on defense. Ultimately, Westminster’s struggles to make open shots and free throws limited their ability to compete in today’s game. We will look to build on our defensive efforts and capitalize off our offensive sets in Saturday’s match up against Suffield.
