Martlets Fall to WNS

In our last match of the season, the Martlets traveled north to Easthampton to challenge the Wildcats of Williston. It was a beautiful day for tennis: sunny, warm, and a slight breeze. And despite not having played another match in a while due to cancelations, the Martlets put in a good effort. MVP award for the day goes to Gid Williams ‘27. Gid won his singles match in a nail-biting tiebreaker and then immediately filled in for captain Colin Daly (out today) at first doubles with partner, Ethan McQueeney ‘27. Together, Gid and Ethan won a good doubles match, 8-6. Other matches were equally competitive despite losses: Enoch Olaosebikan ‘27 fought hard against a player with a quirky but effective serve; Blake Balavender ‘29 started strong, going toe-to-toe with his opponent for a while; Zach Li ‘27 and his opponent had one of the most impressive rallies I have seen all year. See you on the courts next spring!
