Martlets Leave No Doubt in Win over AOF

After a tough league matchup on Wednesday, the birds returned home to take on Avon Old Farms at Osborn Field. Matt Shea '26 got the start on the mound and delivered again. He gave up a HR in the top of the first but rebounded to throw 5IP, allowing 1R and striking out 7. After falling behind 1-0, the offense answered in the bottom of the first. George Willis '26 delivered a 2 out single to plate Ethan Villacis '27 and tie it up. The Martlets would wiggle out of trouble in multiple innings, keeping the game 1-1. In the bottom of the 5th, the bats busted the game open. Ryan Holmes '28 smoked a 2-R triple and the boys would go on to score six runs in the inning. Monty Gantz '26 singled home two runs to put the cherry on top. Andy Do '28 saw his first varsity innings and finished out the game.
