Kent 3 vs Westminster 1

Westminster and Kent met Wednesday evening at Jackson Rink for a tightly contested matchup that opened with strong energy from the Martlets. Westminster struck first at 9:50 of the opening period when Junior Captain, Bella Zapata, buried a clean shot from the slot, set up beautifully by Mya Polastry ‘27, while Ellie Larrabee ‘27 provided an effective screen in front. Despite the early momentum, Kent answered with two power-play goals later in the period, shifting the lead to 2-1 by intermission. Kent extended its advantage in the second period with another goal, and though Westminster struggled to find its rhythm during that frame, the Martlets came out with renewed urgency in the third. They generated sustained pressure and quality opportunities but couldn’t break through for the goals needed to mount a comeback. The game closed as a 3-1 final in favor of Kent, with Westminster showing resilience despite the uphill battle.

Our Grit & Grace player of the game is goaltender Kate Epke ‘27! Kate made some big saves to help keep the Martlets in striking distance throughout the game.
