What a great soccer season conclusion

Frantz Batoh
In a highly anticipated rematch, the Martlets faced Pomfret School, seeking redemption after their unexpected loss in 2024, which shattered their undefeated streak. The atmosphere was charged with tension as both teams battled for control on the field. Despite numerous opportunities to score, it wasn’t until the end of the first half that Eliza Reilly ’27, assisted by Charlotte Lundin ’29, finally broke the deadlock, sending the ball into Pomfret’s net. That goal ignited a surge of determination in the Martlets, who dominated the second half and pressured Pomfret’s defense relentlessly.

Fueled by their newfound confidence, Piper Lundi ’26 showcased her skills by netting two additional goals, sealing a decisive 3-0 victory for the Martlets. The win was not just about the score; it marked the end of the season for the seniors, leaving them with a mix of pride and nostalgia. Emotions ran high as the team celebrated their hard-fought success, culminating in the Grit and Grace Award being collectively bestowed upon the entire squad. Special recognition was given to Lexie Willis ’26 for her leadership and unwavering spirit, who inspired her teammates to push through to the very end. What a season it has been!

**Thank you, Lexie, Lucy, and Piper, for the great soccer season!
