Martlets Fall to Master's

The Master’s School, only a few minutes drive from campus, was the location of this afternoon game. This was the first time Westminster’s 3rds team played the school. Early on one of the opponent’s teams players took over the game, scoring three goals within 20 minutes of the start. Westminster continued to play hard throughout the half and saw their defensive line of Lily McMillen ‘27, Catherine Hogan ‘29, and Susan Wang ‘29 play well. That line remained in the game for the entire half. In the second half Master’s pulled many of their stars but were still able to put a few balls in the net. Midway through the half a strong Westminster drive resulted in the girls’ first score of the season, thanks to a pass from Bea duPont ‘29 to Elena Abud ‘28. Despite the score, the team was able to fashion quite a few drives on the field, and had a number of shots on goal and direct kicks on the other side of the field. New players are growing in their confidence when on the field, including Claudia Cristia Gil ‘29, Juju Ageyaman ‘28, and Angelina Mertz ‘29.
