Brian O’Callaghan Named Interim Head Coach of Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse

Westminster is excited to announce that Brian O’Callaghan will serve as the interim head coach of the girls varsity lacrosse team for the 2026 season.

O’Callaghan, who was an assistant coach this past spring, brings more than 25 years of experience as a coach and player. He has a proven record of success, having led teams to multiple NYSAIS and FAA championships during his time at Rye Country Day School, where he also earned Western New England Assistant Coach of the Year honors. He has coached seven high school All-Americans and helped student-athletes go on to compete at top collegiate programs, including Harvard, Cornell, Penn, Duke and Army.

“Brian’s leadership, deep understanding of the current team, and ambitious vision for the program stood out during the search process,” said Director of Athletics Tim Joncas. “As Westminster prepares for the 2026 season, his steady presence and clear plan will provide the momentum needed to move the program forward.”
In addition to coaching, O’Callaghan serves as form dean for the Class of 2027, teaches global history and is a corridor supervisor.
