General Summary
The Westminster School Health Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to work at its Simsbury, CT campus. This position empowers a qualified RN to provide care for adolescents and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of health care providers in a CT-state licensed infirmary. Reporting to the Clinical Director of the Health Center, this is a per diem position, working during the academic year (September through May), picking up shifts as they are available. Participation in the weekend on-call rotation is required (every 4th weekend from 1pm Saturday through 7am Monday).
Job Qualifications
- CT Licensure required with at least 1-2 years of experience. Experience in pediatrics and adolescence is preferred.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Overall comfort with technology required.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required.
- Ability to respond to high-stress situations in a calm and efficient manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including sensitivity to and experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and abilities.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be extremely reliable and flexible.
- Must be First Aid/AED/CPR certified.
- Current driver’s license with clean driving record required.
- Ideal candidate resides within a 30-minute drive to campus to accommodate on-call hours.
