Martlets Fall in Regular Season Finale

The Martlets wrapped up their season with a hard-fought 3-0 loss to Kent in a competitive, back-and-forth battle that was closer than the final score suggests. After a strong opening frame, the game remained scoreless through the first period. Both teams traded chances early, with the Martlets generating offensive pressure and a series of good chances. Defensive play and steady goaltending on both ends kept things locked at 0-0 heading into the second. Kent broke through midway through the second period, capitalizing on a nice shot to take a 1-0 lead. Despite the setback, the Martlets continued to push, creating opportunities and keeping the game within reach. With six minutes remaining in regulation, Kent extended its advantage on the power play to make it 2-0. Still battling, the Martlets pulled their goalie in the final minutes in search of a late spark. However, with just under a minute left, Kent sealed the game with an empty-net goal to secure the 3-0 final. It was a strong effort from the Martlets in their final game of the season. They competed hard from start to finish in what was a tightly contested matchup. While it’s tough to see the season come to a close, there’s plenty to be proud of in the way this group battled until the very end.

Our Grit & Grace players of the game goes to the whole team! A lot to be proud of for this group.
