Martlets Fall to BB&N

On the second day of the Harrington Tournament, Westminster faced BB&N in its third game of the weekend. The matchup was tightly contested from the start, with both teams locked in a scoreless tie after the first period despite Westminster not finding its rhythm early. The second period saw a stronger response from Westminster, as they settled into their game and matched BB&N shift for shift. Improved puck movement and pressure kept the game even heading into the third period, still tied. BB&N broke through in the final frame, scoring twice to take a 2-0 lead. Westminster refused to back down, battling hard until the final whistle. With the goalie pulled and just a minute and a half remaining, Westminster cut the deficit to one. Ellie Larrabee ‘27 fired a pass through the slot that found defenseman Izzy Hurkala ‘26, who buried the chance to make it 2-1. Westminster pressed relentlessly in the closing moments, but time ran out before they could find the equalizer. Despite the loss, Westminster showed resilience and determination, capping off a competitive game in a challenging tournament stretch.

Our Grit & Grace player of the game was goaltender Liesel Kocourek ‘27. Liesel kept the Martlets in the game when the Knights pressed hard.
