Storm, Vacation & Travel Information

SNOW DAYS
Parents may call the school's switchboard (860) 408-3000 after hours for information related to bad weather. The Director of Studies will post Snow Day protocol via the school’s Community e-mail.

If any student anticipates a late arrival or absence, we ask that parents:
  1. call Rachel Falco (860) 408-3020, or
  2. call or email the Form Dean (list to the right), or
  3. email Rachel Falco at rfalco@westminster-school.org
Any day student may come to school if distance or improved conditions later in the day make attendance feasible. We ask teachers to slow the pace of classes and emphasizing review. Because such a large percentage of the student body lives on campus as boarders or lives nearby, we rarely cancel classes.

VAN TRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS
The Deans’ Office coordinates van service to Bradley Airport and Union Station (bus and rail) in Hartford during vacations. School vans drop students at these transportation centers, and then students make their own arrangements to complete the journey home. Since students return to school after vacations at different times and from different locations, coordinating local van transportation for their return is more complicated. After each vacation, the Deans’ Office will arrange for vans to have one pick-up time at the bus/train station in Hartford and at Bradley Airport. These van times will be posted on Westminster email News Conference the day of arrival back to school. Students usually arrange for a taxi to drive them back to school if the van pickups don’t match their arrival schedule.
