Girls Finish Dual Meet Season at Porter's
The Martlets traveled to Farmington Feb. 17 for the culmination of the dual meet season, taking on talented teams from Miss Porter's and Hopkins. The girls came away with some solid swims and several best times but were outpaced by their opponents in the double-dual contest. Alex Lin '19 placed third in the 200 Freestyle and second in the 100 Freestyle with two strong swims, and Alex Wolf '19 took third in the 50 Free. Cecilia Raymond '20 finished third in the diving event with her first score over 200. The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Angelesia Ma '20, co-captain Liza Lennox '18, Wolf and Lin placed third. Ma took the third spot in the 100 Breaststroke with a strong swim. The team of Katherine Ashe '21, Lennox, Wolf and Lin also finished — you guessed it — third in the meet's final event, the 400 Freestyle Relay. Other Martlets with notable performances and best times included Michelle Wu '21 (100 Fly, 500 Free), Siena Holowesko '21 (50 Free, 100 Breast), Simonne Ponce '21 (200 Free, 100 Back) and Mary Su '18 (100 Fly). With the dual meet season behind them, the girls turn their attention toward rest, recovery and fine-tuning for the Founders League Championships next Saturday at Hotchkiss and the New England Championships on Saturday, March 3.
