Even Play During the First Half

The girls tasted defeat for the second straight game, falling to a very strong Miss Porter’s School team on Oct. 5. The first half was played fairly evenly. Despite more of the possession going to the Daisies, the teams each generated a number of dangerous scoring chances as play went back and forth. Susie Mahoney ‘20 created a couple of good chances for herself, but her best shot went just wide of the net. The visitors scored a very nice goal in the 34th minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, the depleted Martlet squad found it increasingly difficult to find the energy necessary to defend against the Daisies passing game. A great individual effort in the 46th minute gave Porter’s a 2-0 lead and a third and final goal was added 10 minutes later. Things don’t figure to get much easier when the Martlets clash with Loomis this weekend.
