Second Boys' Squash fights valiantly against Taft in losing effort

The Martlets knew that traveling to Watertown in the rain to play a very talented Taft team that had only lost one match all season would present a major challenge, but playing without their #2 player Chanler Miller '18, who missed the entire week because of an illness, made the task all but impossible. Despite many entertaining and hard fought points, the Black and Gold ended up losing nine of the 11 matches. There were five four-game matches and three five-game matches, which indicates just how evenly matched the teams were. Minh Nguyen '16 playing at #4 and Connor Seeley '18 playing at #8 were the only two Martlets to win their matches, and they share the nail, not just for being victorious, but also for showing resolve and good sportsmanship under some particularly trying circumstances. Six Seconds players return next year and they will be augmented by a batch of players from this year's highly successful Thirds team, so Coach Cervas is already eagerly looking forward to the 2016-2017 season. Coach Cervas would like to thank all of the parents for their support during the season, too.
