Despite Bad Moments, Martlets Get The Win

Westminster returned to the court against Williston on Wednesday. The Martlets' season has been filled with adversity and learning how to overcome it. Against Williston the Black and Gold again found themselves in a tough matchup. The Wildcats got on the scoreboard first and took a lead of 6 - 2. The Martlets responded with a 10 - 0 run.  This game was sloppy with many turnovers by both teams. Westminster was impatient and forced passes and shots. Despite all of the ugly play, the Martlets were up 25 - 16 at the half. Williston returned out of the break eager to climb back into the game. The Wildcats made two quick baskets to close the lead to 25- 20. The play remained inconsistent and neither team demonstrated an ability to control the game. In the final minutes, Greg Miller '10 made a steal to seal the game in the remaining seconds and edge out a win 43 - 41. It was the ugliest game the Martlets have played but they will humbly take victory.
