Martlet Fans Turn Out Against Winged Beavers

The lights were on and the gym was packed for the cross town rival game with AOF. The Martlets came out ready to play with a strong defensive presence. The Martlets matched baskets shot for shot with the Winged Beavers.   Matt Wilson '11 was strong in the paint and Greg Miller '10 got off to a strong start. By the end of the first half it was clear to see this game was a battle as Avon led 38-31. The Black and Gold continued to fight during the second half but didn't have enough to overcome the visitors. The home team's effort was stymied when Wilson, who had 16 points on the day, fouled out at 6:34 to go in the game. Westminster never gave up but AOF had too much in this match up. Miller finished with 21 points.
