Martlets Play Well, Unable To Hold On To Win

In the first game of the new year, the Martlets hosted Suffield and got out to an early lead 8 to 2. Westminster continued to play strong and pushed the margin up to a 10 point lead at 18 to 8. This was the first game back with Captain Rafi Rojas '10 and it showed. The Martlets played smart most of the first half with the lead. Towards the end of the first half, the Tigers made a run and closed the gap to a one point Martlet halftime lead. Westminster came out strong in the second half and led until the 3:43 minute mark when Suffield went up 38-37. The two teams went back and forth as the clock wound down with Suffield pulling out the win by 3 points in the end. Leading scorers were Greg Miller '10 with 16 points and Matt Wilson '11 with 14 points.
