Martlets Pull Away From Renbrook In Final Minutes

Westminster Third Boys' Basketball defeated Renbrook's varsity 41 - 36. In an exciting seesaw battle on the Pettee Gym hardwood Cam Kurtz '12 called "Bank" and sank a 3 point bank shot to break a 35-35 tie with just over 2:00 to play. The Martlets added to their lead with clutch free throws from Oliver DeClue '09 down the stretch to seal the victory. Jake Lowenstein '10 led all scorers with 13 points on five hard driving layups and one 3 pointer, Kurtz added 11 points on the strength of three 3 pointers, DeClue added 6 points, Alex Gould '11 had 4, Nick Liberator '11 with 3,  Brad Goia'12 another 3, and Jack Allen '11 rounded out the scoring with 1. The seven previously mentioned players scored the points but all 13 players including Michael Ahn '11, Ed Kim '11, Jay Attys '12, Patrick Yoon '12, James Curtiss '09, and Joe Asciotti '09 contributed on defense and team offense.
