First Girls' Hockey Plays Another Good Game

First Girls' Hockey faced a good, hard working Williston team that has a very god young goalie. The Martlets showed solid resolve in their will to win this game. In the first period, solid play from Sara Reid ‘08 and Nicole Palazzo ‘08 really set the pace. Emily Walsh ‘09 with borrowed skates also showed that it is not the skates but the player that makes the difference as she had a number of solid chances, but the team could not find the back of the net. In the second, the Black and Gold increased their energy level and really showed determination in attacking the net. It was not until Tori Pizzuto ‘10 sniped a top corner on the power play on a pass from Walsh and Bethany Dymarczyk ‘08. After that point, Westminster eased up and Williston really came on strong. Kayla Lessard ‘08 came up big on a breakaway and on a few other chances. In the third, Williston did not quit. Finally with 4 minutes to play, Walsh banged home a rebound of a Nicole Fox '10 shot for some insurance. Over the last four minutes, Westminster clamped down and did not give up any more good scoring opportunities. Next up, Gunnery at their place.
