Westminster Boys Cross Country wins at Salisbury

Zane Rooney ‘07 won both dual meets on a hilly, root filled, rocky course with the weather deteriorating to cold, wind and rain. Rooney led all runners for Westminster with 19:06 in this 5 k run. Gavin Zalinger ‘07 and Colin McLaughlin ’10 took third and forth to give Westminster an edge over Kent that Josh Zalinger ’09 (6th) and Andrew Overbye ’09 (11th) nailed down. Placing 1, 3, 4, and 5,  Westminster built an insurmountable lead. Overbye rounded out the Westminster scoring, and John Sherman ’07 was in 6th place, pushing Salisbury last two scorers down two points. In both races, strong placement by G. Zalinger, McLaughlin, and J. Zalinger helped to corroborate Rooney’s winning effort.
