Westminster Loses to Loomis

Loomis Chaffee put on the pressure form the opening face-off until they netted their best goal with 26 seconds to go in the final period. Unlike the Martlets first opponent of the season, the Pelicans played hard throughout and on a team for which ten players were playing their second game ever after a total of eight practices. This Seconds team did a markedly better job of covering and contesting for the puck. Most of the Loomis tallies came on pile-ups near the net when inexperienced wings were struggling to skate back into the play. The Westminster coaches were pleased with the Black and Gold’s efforts, up-beat attitude, and willingness to try for proper position so in this “rebuilding season” these were 45 minutes well spent.
