Westminster Defeats Trinity-Pawling

Westminster had all they could handle from Trinity-Pawling but two goals in the last ten minutes sealed a 4-2 win. Tucker Mauke ’06 started the scoring two minutes into the game, beating T-P’s goalie to a through ball from David Earl ’06. Despite several good scoring chances for both teams, the first half ended 1-0. Westminster scored early again in the second half with Damek Spacek ’06 converting off of a setup from Jimmy Turbide ’07. Unfortunately, T-P rallied, tieing the score within five minutes of Westminster. Once again, however, the end belonged to Westminster with Earl getting the game winner, stuffing home a Phil Dreher ’08 free kick and EJ Nisbeth ’09 providing the insurance by converting on a breakaway. Goalie Lane Bodian ’06 had five saves on the day. We look forward to tomorrow’s make-up game with Salisbury.
