Westminster Defeats Kingswood

David Earl ’06 broke out with three goals to lead Westminster to a victory over Kingswood-Oxford. K-0 took advantage of a defensive lapse to take an early 1-0 lead, before Earl equalized 30 minutes later, converting off a nifty pass from Jimmy Turbide ’07. K-O scored again just before the half, leaving Westminster an uphill battle. Our superior depth began to show immediately after the break, leading to Earl’s second goal off of a Jake Utzig ’07 assist in the fifth minute. With eighteen minutes left, persistent pressure led to the go-ahead goal for EJ Nisbeth ’09 with an assist from Phil Dreher ’08. Nine minutes later Earl scored his third goal of the day. Two minutes later, the finally tally from Evan Carriere ’07 from another Turbide assist. Westminster had three more games this week; Wednesday at home vs. Trinity-Pawling, a Thursday make-up game at home vs. Salisbury, and Saturday we travel to Avon Old Farms.
