Westminster Defeats Kingswood

The First Girls Squash team had a complete, healthy ladder for only the second time this season, a situation which lent the team a lot of confidence as they squared off against an athletic team from Kingswood-Oxford. The Martlets began strongly, earning convincing 3-0 wins at #2 (Cam Scott '06) and #6 (Lauren Eder).

Claire Corroon '09 moved to 12-1 for the season with a strong 3-1 win at #4; she responded well to her opponent's short kills with deep attacks that kept her off-balance. Olivia Robinson '07 had a marathon match at #8, ultimately taking the fifth game 9-4. The one loss of the day for Westminster came at the #5 position, where Ali Bragg '09 battled a determined and patient opponent, coming just short in a series of tightly contested games.

The big news for the Martlets came at the #1 position, however, where Caroline Reigeluth '07 returned after her January 14th injury and easily handled her opponent, losing a total of five points. Sofi Garnett '06 also won handily at #3, giving up two points, and Robyn Nentwig had a lot of spectators to witness her solid 3-1 victory in the #9 exhibition match.
