Wild Boars Defeat Martlets

Westminster battled both the elements and a strong Choate squad in a Founders League matchup this past Wednesday. The Martlet defense set the tone early, combining aggressive ball pressure with disciplined marking on off-ball cutters. This defensive grit effectively slowed Choate’s rhythm for much of the contest; when the opposition did find an opening, Joanna Halle ‘29 was an absolute wall in the cage, delivering a series of spectacular saves. On the offensive end, Alex Musser ‘26, Kate Epke ‘27, Schuyler Groves ‘26, and Lily Pokorny ‘29 kept the Martlets within striking distance. Delia Lockwood ‘26 impressed in the midfield, winning key battles on the draw to secure extra possessions, while Gigi Filippetti’s tenacity was on full display. Filippetti was instrumental in forcing turnovers on the ride and using her signature gritty play to spark the transition from defense to offense.
