Martlets Defeat WNS

JV Girls Lacrosse traveled to Williston for their game on Wednesday. An early goal from Caroline Callen ‘26 led to a tied first quarter (1-1). During the second quarter, Williston added two more goals. Piper Lundin ‘26 cut the lead to one, and the Martlets went into halftime trailing 3-2. Bella Zapata ‘27 opened the scoring for the second half less than a minute into the third quarter, leveling the score at 3-3. The defense did an excellent job holding the Wildcats scoreless during the third. Bella Zapata ‘27 scored once more in the fourth and assisted the following goal by Chloe Corneau ‘29. Two more goals from Chase Carter ‘26 (assisted by Lylah Leigner ‘29) and Piper Lundin ‘26 (assisted by Caroline Callen ‘26) brought the final score to 7-3. Goalie Mimi Salman ‘26 was stellar in net, leading the defense to a second half shutout.
